The week before Christmas

December 21, 2010

Well, my little house in here Ukarumpa, Papua New Guinea is decorated for Christmas. Today, my housemate, Lynn, is baking cookies. I just had a lovely shortbread cookie. Presents from family and friends have arrived. Now, I just need to wait to open the presents. (I am really only a pretend adult. ) LOL
But really, I am looking forward to the special Christmas services on both Christmas Eve and Christmas day. I just love to celebrate the story about Jesus coming to earth to be our Savior and Immanuel – God with us!!

Hey, that is the real reason that I am here in PNG a very long way from my family. I do miss my Texas family, but it is also great being here with PNG family. Give someone a hug today and tell them how much you appreciate them. And tell someone else the real reason for the Christmas season.
And here is another way to celebrate Christmas:

“Tyndale House Publishers and Wycliffe Bible Translators are partnering in an effort to give the New Living Translation to contest winners—and to give one fortunate family the opportunity to learn about the exciting world of Bible translation with a custom-designed adventure at the Wycliffe Discovery Center in Orlando, Florida. Visit for details.”

Check out the site and see how you can learn more about Bible translation. The best way to learn about Christmas is to learn about Christ in the language that speaks to your heart!

Merry Christmas blessings from PNG!! beverly
