Washing Veggies, Making Granola, Packing.

September 27, 2011

10 days and counting until I head back out to Walagu village. Daily life goes on in the midst of preparation & packing. Three mornings a week, PNG ladies bring the produce to sell at our local market. Do you like fresh organic produce, but really dislike the huge price? Come to PNG & shop at our market here. I do wash my veggies & fruit before eating. Doesn’t it make you could eat at my place tonight? Meatloaf, roasted veggies & salad!

All of the meat and vegetables that I am taking to Walagu have now been dehydrated. Today, I am making granola. Two batches of granola, then stir up one batch of baked oatmeal: 1 bowl, 2 measuring cups, 3 measuring spoons = lots of breakfasts for Walagu. Here they are ready to go into the oven.

This morning was some paperwork & packing in between baking. This afternoon is a short dr.’s follow-up visit. Then I am proof-reading the Onobasulu curriculum for the Elementary Prep and Prep 1 years for the Onobasulu community schools that are just beginning. This is the curriculum that Joy Candee & the Onobasulu teachers have been working on.
Well, I should get started on my afternoon. What did you today?
