T-Minus 2 days & counting. . .

April 29, 2012

I have 2 working days before I leave Ukarumpa Wednesday morning to begin traveling home to the USA for furlough.

My ‘to do’ list is still dauntingly long. Pray that I can get everything done that still or really needs to happen before I leave PNG. Pray for strength & stamina as I am already tired.

Pray for safe travels. Wednesday morning (late Tuesday afternoon Texas time) I fly from Ukarumpa to Port Moresby; this includes good flying weather, e.g. no rain, clouds or ground fog. I will then spend most of the day in Port Moresby, capital of PNG, before a early evening flight to Cairns, Australia. Pray that I can check in well, no luggage gets lost, and that I clear immigration & customs quickly & problem free.

I then have 9 nights and 8 days in lovely Cairns. Ask me what I plan to do there: ‘What do you plan to do, Beverly?’ ‘Nothing, absolutely nothing!’ I can hardly wait. Pray that I do have some rest and refreshment, esp. some encouraging quiet time fellowshipping & listening to the Father.

Then on 11th May, I get up early in the morning so as to fly from Cairns to Sydney; then I change planes and fly non-stop to Dallas/Ft. Worth airport. It will be a hugely long day, especially since crossing the international date line from west to east, I begin to repeat the same day. On paper, with local flight times, I arrive at DFW airport less than an hour after departing Sydney airport. Once again pray that I can check in well, no luggage gets lost, and that I clear immigration & customs quickly & problem free.

If you are in the USA, contact me about arranging a time for us to get together & to hear more exciting things about Bible translation for the Onobasulu people.
